DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY

Cardinal Santos Medical Center prides itself in being a “Mommy-Baby-Friendly” institution. Spearheading efforts towards this is the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Department has a strong roster of 129 obstetrician-gynecologists, several of whom have been heads of the Philippine Obstetrics and Gynecology Society and the Philippines Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for women.

The Department offers patients the following services:

  • Maternal and fetal care, prenatal check-ups
  • Gynecologic screenings for abnormal bleeding, myomas, and pelvic masses/tumors
  • Pap Smear, Colposcopy/HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Testing
  • Reproductive endocrinology
  • Gestational Trophoblastic Disease diagnosis and treatment
  • Obstetric/gynecologic ultrasound (including 3D/4D ultrasound)
  • Gynecologic oncology
  • Comprehensive women’s care
  • Minimally invasive procedures (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy)
  • Female infectious diseases
  • Urogynecology (female urinary tract and incontinence)

The entire Delivery Room complex has been completely renovated into spacious, individualized labor rooms for the highest level of privacy for its patients in labor. Fathers or birthing partners are allowed within the labor room throughout the entire labor process. A separate Birthing Unit/Lamaze Room allows couples to experience the labor and delivery together, all in the comforts of a private delivery suite.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is also a leading training institution, offering the following training programs:

  • Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Fellowship in Obstetric and Gynecologic Ultrasound

The residency program features rotations in the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital, The Medical City, Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, San Juan Medical Center, Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital, and Pasig City General Hospital.
